Art Show

From now until who knows when, The Lady in Greenpoint art show is taking place at the bar Oak & Iron, 147 Franklin Street in Greenpoint.

In 2022, I made The Lady in Greenpoint, a 3-mile walking audio ghost story starting at the Pulaski Bridge. It’s available for anyone to do for free (tips accepted) at www.theladyingreenpoint.com

The piece mixed fact with fiction, taking advantage of Greenpoint locations to help tell the tale. One location is the bar where you currently stand, Oak & Iron. In fact, large chunks of the story were written right here, over probably too many Bingo Bangos. (Note: Chapter 15 is meant to be listened to as you gaze at The Astral, the historic building across the street, from the bar’s front window.)

Keeping walkers on the correct route was a constant worry as I produced the project, so I made charcoal drawings of perspectives around Greenpoint to help walkers align from where they should press play on the audio tracks. These charcoals are displayed around you, in order from start to finish, if you’d like to simulate the walking experience. All originals are available for purchase unless otherwise noted by a sticker. To purchase originals, contact me at rickpaulas@gmail.com or text me at 310-467-0608

Select prints are also available near the front window for pay what you wish.

The show looks like this:

Walking is free, but donations sure don't hurt. The suggested donation is $10.
